Frequently asked questions

1. Which HDTV Antenna is best for me?

Our general rule is… if you are able to put an Outdoor TV Antenna outside or in your attic, then an Outdoor TV Antenna is best for you. The Outdoor HDTV Antennas will give you the strongest, most solid signal and the ability for you to pick up the most available TV channels in your area. Our Outdoor HDTV Antennas are Easy to Install. We offer Free Support, if needed.

The HD 8008 is recommended for people that live within the city or suburbs within 5 - 75 miles of the broadcast towers. The HD 8008 is our most powerful Omni Directional Outdoor TV Antenna.

Indoor HDTV Antenna’s will also work for people that live within 8 to 10 miles of the TV broadcast towers. For people to live farther away than 10 miles the broadcast towers, the indoor antenna will still work but you will possibly not receive all the available TV channels.

2. Are there any monthly fees?

There are no monthly fees. The HDTV Antennas will pick up the Free Digital TV signals being broadcast across the USA, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Guam, and anywhere else that UHF and VHF TV signals are available. No monthly fees!

3. How Many TV's can connect to the Lava Multi Directional Outdoor TV Antennas?

You can split off up to 6 TV's with the Lava HD-8008. The more TV's and the longer the cable lengths to each TV the more the signal strength will weaken. You can use your homes existing cabling to have the TV Antenna provide signal to all of your TV's. If you have power near your existing splitter then you can use the existing splitter. If you do not have power near your existing splitter then you can connect up to 4 TV's with the our Ultra 4-Way Splitter, designed specifically to work with the Lava Outdoor TV Antennas. Every TV can be tuned to different channels, watching different shows at the same time and work independently of each other.

4. What Channels can I receive?

The channels you receive will depend on where you live. Most people in the USA will be able to receive all the major networks like ABC-HD, NBC-HD, CBS-HD, Fox-HD, Ion-HD, The CW-HD and PBS-HD. Most people in the US will also receive channels like LWN, Create, Tuff-TV, Retro-TV, Antenna-TV, This-TV, MeTV, LWN, qubo, ION-Life, The Weather, BounceTV, PunchTV, PBS Kids, Home & Garden, Sports, News, Movies, foreign-language channels and more. You will have access to over 857 TV Shows, Movies, Sports, News, kids shows and more with No Monthly Fees! No Cable, No Dish, No Bills!

Slight improvement over cheap bunny ears January 30, 2016
Reviewer: Jeff Moore from toledo, OH United States
Not what I was expecting. My channels went from 22 to 28 with some slightly better pictures. I thought for sure that I would pick up Detroit channels which is less than 60 miles away. It says up to 120 miles and  I'm not getting up to 60. Disappointed

Performace January 28, 2016
Reviewer: Mark Spliedt from Jenison, MI United States
The reception is fairly good but the location in Muskegon is a distance 50 plus miles from most of the broadcast channels. So some have a hard time holding the signal. Currently it is attached to the eave with a 4 foot extension attached to the J pole. This spring I will move it up to the chimney with a longer extension to see if this will improve the reception.

Cut the cable January 22, 2016
Reviewer: Gregory Bevins from Punta Gorda, FL United States
I was hesitant on the claims of the number of channels I would receive, but it was right-on-the-money. I have decided to cut cable TV from my home. Over the air has so many old channels that I missed watching and didn't see on cable. I have channels coming from the North and South of me. I am now turning all my friends and family on to this approach

Reply January 21, 2016
Reviewer: Lois Campise from Santee, CA United States
Thank you for asking,
I am still using the first antenna that I bought, It is still working fine, I have not opened the box of the new antenna, yet...... I need to find some one to put it on the  pole....... I will keep it in case the other one stops working... I am very happy with my first one, I get all the TV I ever could want.
I will give it a 5 star, I am sure it will be working as well as the one I am using...
If I ever need help I will keep this review and get in touch for help.
Thank U again
Lois M. Campise
